Project: ALTIMIT is a project designed to recreate the environment of the AltimitOS from the .hack world originally created by Bandai, on UNIX based systems, specifically those running Linux with XWindows and KDE at this time. ALTIMIT in this case is a recursive acronym following in the footstps of the acronyms GNU and KDE. In this case, ALTIMIT stands for "ALTIMIT's Linux Tentatively Imitating Mostly Imaginary Technology" (Or if you like, and you prefer Windows, "ALTIMIT's Legacy Technology Imitating Mostly Imaginary Technology").
UPDATE I've switched to Gentoo, following the release of kernel 2.6.0, and in the process I've switched to GNOME instead of KDE. As a result, the KDE widget project has been put on indefinate hiatus until someone is willing to pick up the slack. In the meanwhile, I'll be starting a GNOME project (as Metacity should be an easy port for the window borders for IceWM, and GTK+ 2 seems to be an easier GUI to make widgets for.) So be on the lookout for new stuff in the future for GNOME! Meanwhile, I've added some new independantly made 1024x768 wallpapers by Calico Stonewolf, along with a sample image of the portal. In addition, I've been sitting on the mini bonus SFX CD that came with the Soundtrack for the video games. I'll rip those and post them up as system sounds in a couple of days. This time as RAR.
Though the KDE project is still on hold pending better knowledge of the widget style system, a Windows project has begun. In the near future, expect a Registry file that you can add to enable a default Altimit Orange color scheme (already completed) and a Windowblinds theme as well (in progress, about 35-40% complete). After the Windowblinds scheme is finished, a port to msstyles (the internal XP theming system) and possibly Gnome should not be too difficult. After getting the initial orange theme finished, other colro schemes may appear to match the backgrounds that are available. Other future plans include at least Winamp 2.x and Phoenix themes, if not Winamp3, Mozilla, and Trillian skins as well. Any other skins will be subject to applications' popularity, ease of skinning, and my ability to see the skin.

If you've got a better acronym that the current one for Project: ALTIMIT, I wouldn't mind if you e-mailed me about it. Of course if you've got anything else for UNIX as well regarding imitating AltimitOS, I wouldn't mind that e-mailed to me either.

AltimitOS Sounds - all ripped straight from the game, ready to use as system sounds. My personal scheme will be up soon. Windows users can use these files too (they're .wav files) but they will have to find their own way to untar them (compressed with bzip2 as it has better compression than normal zip) Also note that this is a large file (3 and a half megs)
IceWM Window Decorations:
IceimitWM v1.0 - It is useable, but no instructions or in-depth information exists on this yet. Still tentatively under construction, and designed for KDE initially, so don't blame me if it malfunctions under the original IceWM.
